Terms and conditions

Your Statutory rights are not affected by any of the following terms and conditions:

1. Price
All furniture on this website is offered at the price shown on screen and is inclusive of United Kingdom VAT. Payments for goods may be by secure credit card transactions, or by personal or business cheque. There are no additional charges applied to credit card purchases. Cheque should be made payable to furniturehouse.co.uk and the goods will not be despatched until cheques has cleared. All prices are correct at time of publication. Errors and omissions are expected.

2. Delivery & Charges
Free delivery through England and Wales, an additional delivery surcharge added to Scotland areas, which has clearly displayed in the order form before you finalise your order. After you have placed your order we will contact you via email as soon as your furniture is ready to be delivered.

For other destinations, such as Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wright, Scottish Islands and Channel Islands, we will deliver to the nearest, convenient UK port. Any further arrangements are customers responsibility

Sometimes this can be earlier than the estimated timescale given when your order and sometimes later. Either way, whenever we get updated information, we will pass this onto you. We shall not be liable for any delay in delivery howsoever caused.

We will provide as much as delivery information as possible, when arranging a day for your delivery, typically at least 2-3 days notice. We will flexible as possible when arranging delivery and ask that you will be also. We cannot give a specific time of delivery, although you will be contacted by the delivery company with an estimated time of arrival.

To keep our delivery costs low ( and therefore yours low too ) our drivers are unaccompanied and they will not move or take away any existing goods or property for the purpose of assembly or installation of the goods. The goods will be left inside your premises at the safest convenient location. Delivery drivers as standard will not carry items upstairs, and all transportation of your goods to a location upstairs is entirely carried out at the contractors risk and discretion.

Please advise if this is NOT possible and we will arrange for an extra delivery driver to assist. Please note this will incur an additional cost.

If the goods are damaged in transit, please return the goods to the driver and marking the delivery note that the goods have been returned and email us customer.service@furniturehouse.co.uk with picture or written details of damage.

Where a delivery date has been agreed by you and you are not present to receive the goods, we reserve the right to charge you £50 inc VAT to cover the cost of failed delivery.

We do not deliver on weekends or bank holidays.

3. Cancellations
You may cancel your order at any time by contacting us via email. If your goods have not been despatched, we will arrange for a refund to the card you used to purchase the goods. If you order has been despatched, you will be charged for the costs of returning the goods to us. This charge is £50 inc VAT and this will deducted from any refund given.

4. Returns – 7 Day Cooling Off period
Under the new European Directive on distance selling ( which is incorporated into UK Law by Consumer Protection ( Distance Selling ) Regulation 2000 ), you have the unconditional right to cancel your order within 7 working days without having to give us reason. The 7 working days start from the day after the day that you receive the goods at the designated delivery address.

We will provide a full refund for the purchase price of the goods, but not any delivery or pickup charges ( if delivery has been made ). In order us to provide a refund, all goods must be unopened ( if delivered wrapped or boxed ) and in perfect condition. We unconditionally reserve the right not to refund if the goods are not returned in a suitable condition.

Mattresses can only be returned if they are unopened. Mattresses which have been opened and slept on cannot be returned. If you wish to test a mattress please keep it wrapped until you have sure you want to keep it.

Please note that if you exercise this right, you will have to pay the cost of returning the goods to us. This charge is £50 inc VAT. Where you exercise this right to cancel, we undertake to refund your money within 7 days of receiving the goods back into our warehouse. 5. Warranty
All Goods supplied by us come with a manufacturers warranty of at least 12 months and we will give you such information as is necessary to claim under the manufacturers warranty. If you need to make a claim you must contact us in the first instance

6. Privacy Policy
We are strongly committed to respecting the privacy of all of our customers. We do not and will not share your information with any person, company, or third party organisation. When you purchase any item through Furniture House for the first time an account is automatically created that allows you to monitor your purchases and track the status of your order.

During this process your details are added to our own internal marketing mailing list, but in recognition of the sensitivity of holding such information we confirm that we will only use your personal information to contact you in relation to Furniture House events, products and services and not for any other reason.

7. Copyright
Copyright material appears on the Site which is our property or the property of our content and technology providers or their respective owners. We do not give permission for you to re-publish, alter, transmit or otherwise copy any material on the Site but you may download information from the Site for your own personal use. Except as otherwise expressly permitted under Copyright Law, no copying, re-distribution, re-transmission, publication or commercial exploitation of downloaded material will be permitted without our express permission and that of the Copyright owner.

8. Trade Mark
Any trade marks, designs, business names, company names and logos are the property of their respective owners.

9. Liability
As information on our Site is provided free of charge, we do not accept liability for it. We will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue or goodwill arising from your use of the Site or information on the Site. Subject as provided below, all terms implied by Law are excluded, caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or directors and also for fraudulent misrepresentation caused by us, our employees, agents or directors.

10. Supply of Goods
Where you buy goods from our Site you are subject to our Terms and Conditions which supplement these conditions.

11. Law
You agree that English Law shall apply to these terms and to submit to the jurisdiction of the English Courts if a dispute arises. We aim to ensure our Site complies with English Law but not laws of any other country. If there is anything on the Site that you are not allowed under the laws to which you are subject to access or see, cease using the Site immediately.

12. Complaints & Correspondence
If you receive defective or damaged merchandise please contact us at customer.service@furniturehouse.co.uk or in the writing to the address shown below. We will make every effort to respond to any complaints within 7 working days.
